Tom and Alyson have known each other for years and competed against each other all through the years from 4H judging contests to collegiate contests. They started dating several years ago when Tom came back home from college in Arkansas. We have felt like Alyson has been family since she started dating Tom and are so happy to finally “call” her family. They got engaged around Thanksgiving and weeks after found out they were going to be expanding their family and that Tom’s son Barrett was going to be a big brother(Check out one of the gifts Tom gave Alyson on their wedding day for their little girl)! The family transformed the barn at Tom’s family’s farm into a beautiful barn reception complete with farm house tables with greenery flowing down each one, cowhides, candles, and lots of lights! I loved the natural farm look Alyson envisioned for their wedding! It rained on and off all day and poured during their ceremony, but we had a break in the rain and got to take some bride and groom portraits outside across from the church before heading to the reception! Tom and Alyson opted out of the traditional bridal party and chose to have Tom’s son Barrett be the best man! The wedding was beautiful from the intimate feel of only around 100 guest of family and close friends to having the reception at a place that means so much to Tom and Alyson. I was honored when Alyson asked me to be the photographer for their wedding! Most weddings I shoot Alyson is my second shooter!
